Coral Gold properties are located in one of the world’s richest gold regions.
According to David Wolfin, “Coral Gold is pleased to welcome Robert McEwen to the Board of Directors.” Mr. McEwen brings with him a great deal of experience and success in mining and international finance.
Coral Gold’s property
One of Nevada’s most renowned gold mining regions is the Crescent Valley area of the Battle Mountain and Eureka Trend in the north central part of the state. It is the site of the famed Pipeline Mine, one of North America’s leading gold producers. Here, Coral Gold Resources Ltd.’s Robertson Property adjoins the north of the Pipeline (Cortez Gold Mines – Placer Dome and Kennecott joint venture).
Coral Gold is a junior gold company with advanced exploration. Now the four mineralized zones at Robertson are estimated to contain an indicated mineral resource of about 11 million tons averaging 0.053 oz Au/t, using a 0.02 oz Au/t cutoff grade. Louis Wolfin, a director and past President of Coral, expects that the coming re-evaluation should increase the mineral resources at Robertson.
Coral Gold has been actively mapping, prospecting, and drilling on its properties for 20 years. It has four properties in the southern Crescent Valley: Robertson, Excluded, Norma Sass and Ruf. Coral owns 100 percent of the Robertson claims, while the Excluded claims are operated under a 61/39 joint venture with Cortez Gold Mines (a joint venture between Placer Dome U.S. and Kennecott Explorations). The Ruf and Norma Sass claims are held with Levon Resources Ltd.
Turning to Exploration
While Nevada is still the third largest producer of gold in the world, production is decreasing, from 8.1 million ounces in 2001 to 7.7 million ounces in 2004. Major Nevada producers need to replace reserves and will turn to the juniors.
“We are debt free and looking to increase our gold resources,” said David Wolfin. “We’ve consolidated our shares and now have fewer than 7 million issued, with 3,000 shareholders. We have good momentum and are going to grow. We’ll drill more and hopefully we’ll find more gold.”
Drilling at Robertson
Robertson is an advanced-stage exploration project centered in the Crescent Valley mining district. The property contains an indicated mineral resource estimated at 11 million tons averaging 0.053 oz Au/t based on 2004.
From June to August 2005, the company conducted a new drilling program at Robertson. It consisted of 12 vertical reverse-circulation drill holes, totaling 10,540 feet at depths from 500 feet and 1,200 feet. All twelve holes returned ore-grade intervals (using a 0.01 oz Au/t cutoff grade) ranging in thickness from 10 feet to 150 feet.
The 2005 drilling identified much stronger mineralization than previously encountered suggesting it is an excellent exploration target. Based on these encouraging results Coral Gold is planning to spend a minimum US $1 million in additional exploration for 2006.
In early January 2006, Coral Gold is looking forward to seeing a reevaluation of the current drill-indicated mineral resources at Robertson, which should put the resources just over one million ounces. An appropriate geostatistical approach will be used to support an economic study, allowing them to determine the viability of the deposits. These results will identify areas within or adjacent to the current mineral resources where additional drilling would be useful.
“This is prime real estate close to one of the largest gold mines in the world, along the Pipeline trend. When we drilled, we hit mineralization in every hole,” said David Wolfin.
