This
brief Mercenary Alert gives subscribers a heads-up on a junior resource company
that I am considering for coverage in the near future.
During
the junior bull market from 2003 to 2011, Mexico proved to be the premier
country for gold and silver exploration, development, and mining. I think the
country’s strong potential for new mine development will continue in the new
bull market for commodities.
Candelaria Mining Corp (CAND.V)
is a Mexican explorer and developer formed a year ago by a reverse
take-over and acquisition of a portfolio of projects. Its flagship is the 100%
owned Caballo Blanco project acquired from Timmons Gold in August. Caballo
Blanco is located near Veracruz and has qualified gold resources of 575,000 oz
indicated and 419,000 oz inferred. With its robust exploration potential, this
project will undoubtedly attract the attention of North American gold miners
who need to develop resources and reserves for the future.
Candelaria Mining has five
other projects in various stages of exploration in central and northern Mexico:
I intend to visit Caballo
Blanco and Pinos in the near future. Based on my evaluation of these projects,
I may initiate coverage of Candelaria Mining Corp.
Please note that my opinions
are biased as I am a shareholder of the company and have a cost basis lower than
its recent trading range of 85 cents to $1.00. Also be aware that CAND is very
tightly held with low liquidity so at this juncture, caution is advised if you
decide to buy it. I would not chase this stock up.
That said, I see significant
upside as the company advances the Caballo Blanco project thru permitting and
development.
I encourage you to research
Candelaria Mining Corp and determine if it is a fit for your speculative junior
resource portfolio.
Ciao for now,
