A Monday Morning Musing from Mickey the Mercenary Geologist

January 18, 2016

In late October, I was fortunate to be an invited speaker at the 41st annual New Orleans Investment Conference, hosted by fellow newsletter writer and friend Brien Lundin. My general session presentation was entitled, “Why I Remain a Uranium Bull”.

Because Brien and I agree that the supply-demand fundamentals of uranium are compelling in the mid- to long-term, we now present a comprehensive report on the other yellow metal. We cover its discovery in the late 18th century, building of the bomb during World War II, peaceful uses of nuclear energy developed during the late 1950s, and the nuclear arms race during the Cold War. We discuss the nuclear fuel cycle, from mining and milling, to conversion, enrichment, and fuel fabrication.

We then move on to present-day economics and demand growth, document the limited and constrained world mine supply, and discuss uranium’s unique status as the only green solution for base-load electrical power for at least the next two to three decades.

Folks, it’s a fact: One out of every seven humans who turns on a light switch at night does so with nuclear-generated electricity.

And with 85 million more people inhabiting Earth every year and even more millions entering the urbanized middle-class in the Asia Pacific, electrical demand will continue to grow. We view uranium as the only solution to the world’s long-term and growing energy needs.

Finally, Brien and I feature six ways to play the up-and-coming bull market for uranium stocks.
