A Torrent of Insight is Available at the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference – Allen Alper Jr. Interviews Howard Fitch

Investors need information and insight to make accurate decisions about the resource stocks they are investing in or thinking of investing in. They need data that helps them recognize a good time to buy and when a good time to sell. To get this information, they're forced to scour the web for information to find accurate, timely insight to help them make their decisions. Sometimes the information isn't easy to find; sometimes it's not trustworthy, accurate, or timely.

However, one trusted source for accurate and timely insight – all in one convenient location – is the annual Vancouver Resource Investment Conference. The conference, which is coming up on January 17 and 18, is put on by Cambridge House, an organization that produces resource investment conferences. They've lined up resource investment conferences for 2010 in Vancouver British Columbia, Phoenix Arizona, Calgary Alberta, Saskatoon Saskatchewan, Toronto Ontario, and Montreal Quebec.

Investors who want to drill deep to find great information about the economy, the resource investment sector, and specific companies, need to attend.

We had a chance to talk to Howard Fitch, President of Cambridge House. Mr. Fitch calls the Vancouver show Cambridge House's "flagship show". "It's for individual investors and professional investors to get exposure to mining, exploration, and development stocks. It's a 'must-attend' event for investors to discover where profits lie in this sector in the near future."

In previous years, the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference was held in the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Center. However, with the 2010 Winter Olympics being held there in February, preparations are already underway; so the conference had to change venues this year. "We've moved to two venues that are kitty-corner to each other: The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and the Hyatt Regency Vancouver. They are both near the corner of Georgia and Burrard in downtown Vancouver, about seven blocks away from the venue that most people are familiar with," says Mr. Fitch. The close proximity of the two hotels to each other gives attendees one convenient location to get all the investment insight they need to make effective investing decisions.

There will be plenty for investors to do at the conference: Mr. Fitch says, "We're going to have talks and exhibits conducted simultaneously at both hotels so attendees can go back and forth between hotels to hear the speakers and visit the company exhibits." Conferences attendees can look forward to deep market insight from a long list of industry-leading keynote speakers, hands-on workshops, thought-provoking panel discussions, exhibits of over 250 resource industry companies, and more.

"It's an opportunity to hear over 40 experts analysts give their insight on where they think the market is heading and where they see some of the trends going and where some of the hot areas in the mining sector are. Shareholders and prospective shareholders should attend to get a handle on what's going on with their investments and meet face-to-face with the exhibiting companies." As Mr. Fitch points out, this is due diligence at its best for both current shareholders and those who are still shopping around for the right opportunity or investment idea. This is the chance for investors to take a closer look at their investments and talk to other people who might also be thinking about the investment.

The conference will be held over the course of two days – Sunday, January 17th and Monday, January 18th.

On Sunday, 10 keynote speakers will be speaking (5 in each hotel) and they include Jay Taylor of MiningNews, Victor Goncalves of the Equities and Economics Report, and Tom MacNeill of 49 North Resources, plus seven others. Panel discussions will be on precious metals and rare earths, with leading industry experts contributing at each one. As well, there will be 7 workshops offered 3 times throughout the day, led by well-known names in the field.

On Monday, 10 more keynote speakers will be speaking (again, 5 in each venue) and they include Brent Cook of Exploration Insights, Dr. Michael Berry of Morning Notes, and Greg McCoach of The Mining Speculator, plus seven others. Panel discussions will be on picking juniors and on a world outlook, two evergreen topics for investors. As well, 7 expert-led workshops will again be offered 3 times throughout the day.

It's a timely show, Mr. Fitch says, because of the seasonality: "You come to December and there's tax loss selling and the stocks come down a bit but then you come into January and the New Year is ahead of you. Everybody wonders where the market is going to be headed in 2010. For example, the price of gold has recently been hitting new highs so people wonder if that will carry on in the New Year? What about the price of other metals and commodities like copper, lead, zinc? Is the demand going to be there from China and India to keep these commodities moving upward?"

If you invest in the resource sector, of if you are thinking about it, this is THE conference to attend: Make sure you register (see the link, below). Then come prepared to hear the speakers and take plenty of notes, meet the companies you are investing in or thinking about investing in, and network with likeminded resource-sector investors. The potential return on investment from attending a conference like this will be tremendous!
